Notaro Care Homes is an independent, family-run company with eleven care homes in the west of England. The team at Notaro approached allmanhall to help to improve their catering purchasing solution, both in terms of cost and administrative time. The care home group also wanted to consolidate their supplier base.

The solution delivered by allmanhall enabled the following:

Notaro Care Homes is an independent, family-run company with eleven care homes in the west of England. They have been working in partnership with allmanhall since 2018.

What did the client need?

The team at Notaro wanted help to improve their catering purchasing, both in terms of cost and administrative time. The care home group also wanted to consolidate their supplier base as they were using a number of local suppliers as well as a national multi-temp provider, Bidfood.

What was the result?

Once Notaro made the decision to engage allmanhall as their procurement provider in August 2018, allmanhall were able to reduce the group’s food supplier base down to three companies, which are now used by all sites. This improved their costs as Notaro benefited from allmanhall’s substantial purchasing power and negotiation expertise.

Notaro successfully utilised allmanhall’s industry-leading catering software, Saffron. This delivered central billing and administrative efficiencies by consolidating all catering invoices into one each month.  Saffron also fulfilled Notaro’s requirement to implement stock auditing and introduced disciplined purchasing lists across the homes.

In comparison with their previous suppliers, Notaro was able to gain a 7.1% saving in the first twelve months of contract. Annually, 6300 invoices are created from the sites and Notaro receive only 139, generating a 97.5% saving in administration requirements.

Through their extensive catering knowledge, support is also given to the chefs on menu design and nutritional expertise from allmanhall’s Registered Dietitians. Notaro also benefit from regular on-site operational reviews and each site receives comprehensive remote support for any purchasing issues. allmanhall manages the suppliers on Notaro’s behalf and ensures the delivery of outstanding quality and service. Furthermore, allmanhall’s expert team of Buyers provide regular, valuable industry insights to assist cost mitigation in unsettled markets.
