The Graze Burger: sustainable innovation at Marwell Zoo

allmanhall are proud to unveil the Graze Burger at Marwell Zoo – a sustainable evolution of our pioneering The Brighter Burger. Developed in collaboration with Marwell Zoo and Redefine Meat, this ground-breaking menu item proves that food innovation can delight visitors while making a powerful impact on the planet.
The Brighter Burger story
At allmanhall, we believe in creating food that’s brighter – for people, for health, and for the environment. The Brighter Burger was designed to meet rising demand for sustainable, flavour-packed alternatives to beef burgers, offering a delicious plant-based solution without compromise.
Building on that success, we worked with Marwell Zoo to create the Graze Burger – a unique product that supports the zoo’s mission of conservation and sustainability, while showcasing the best of Redefine Meat’s cutting-edge plant-based protein technology.
Measurable environmental benefits
The environmental impact of small menu changes can be extraordinary. If just 1 in 10 visitors at Marwell Zoo chose the Graze Burger instead of a traditional beef burger in a single year, the results would be remarkable:
- 143 million tonnes of water saved
- A meaningful reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
- Tangible alignment with Marwell Zoo’s conservation values

Sustainable catering solutions aren’t simply about reducing impact – they are about actively contributing to environmental protection while providing visitors with delicious food choices.
Visitors love it
Sustainability is vital, but taste is equally important. During tasting sessions, visitors gave the Graze Burger an enthusiastic thumbs up. The feedback confirmed what we set out to prove: plant-based innovation can deliver on both flavour and sustainability.
And it wasn’t just positive comments – three times more visitors enjoyed their lunch from the ‘Snack Shack’ during the trial, a clear sign of both appetite and approval.
